Eric Buckley: So, not everything in life ends in success. While I'm technically ABD (all but dissertation) and have a 4.0 GPA, that's as far as it's going. It's not that I soured on getting a PhD as much as I realized the futility of it. Academia has changed and the old path of finishing out your career giving something back to the next generation is pretty much dead as schools have filled all those slots with adjuncts. Sorry, but I'm not interested in ending my professional life as a second class citizen. So, I'll stay in industry where my efforts are appreciated. Meanwhile, I still post here from time to time. Mostly race stuff since much of what I do in my day job is protected intellectual property.
