I don't know why this never occurred to me. I guess that's why you have an adviser in grad school. I should actually compare the results of my method to some other methods. After all, why would anybody care about your method if it wasn't at least as good as stuff that's already been published?
He had a couple of suggestions for comparison. The one I'm liking the most is the "Bag of Bootstraps" method, mostly because it's a really cool name. It also has the advantage of being relatively easy to code. Not sure if I can knock out the result in a week, but I told him I'd try. I would really like to stay on track for taking the A exam in December of January. I think I'm pretty close. Having a comparison result will help.
