Just a quick proud papa post today. Yaya got a "1" (which is the high score) at the St. Louis Music Educators Exhibition. I'm not a particularly good judge of what makes a trumpet piece hard since I've never been any good at valved instruments, but it seemed like the solo Yaya picked was pretty stout for an 8th grader. The judges seemed to agree.
